Welcome to Il Cinema Ritrovato – in its 37th edition! – where we will once again celebrate the irreplaceable experience of col- lective viewing. Our programme has become more and more like the legendary The Movie Orgy (which will be introduced by Joe Dante himself): 470 films including 35mm, 16mm, restored masterpieces and hidden gems from all over the world. Not to mention all the extraordinary guests who will enrich Il Cinema Ritrovato and provide a unique opportunity to enjoy the history of cinema in all its nuances: Wim Wenders, Ruben Östlund, Luca Guadagnino, Barbet Schroeder, editor Thelma Schoonmaker, photographer and activist Nan Goldin, producer Jeremy Thomas, to name but a few, will hold this year’s great masterclasses. Eighteen programmes representing a journey through time and space without limits or boundaries, from the origins of cinema to the filmmakers and actors who have indelibly marked the contemporary world. More unique than rare, an opportunity to change perspectives and see the world through new eyes.
