To celebrate the 40th edition of Il Cinema Ritrovato, we invite you to browse a selection of the festival’s press coverage. First and foremost, our thanks go to all the journalists who joined us in Bologna, as well as to everyone who followed the festival from afar. The articles gathered here offer only a glimpse of the stories written about the 540 films screened this year and the unique atmosphere that makes Il Cinema Ritrovato such a special experience.
You will find reports by correspondents from some of the world’s leading international publications, representing every continent, including “Variety“, “The Guardian“, “Le Monde“, “Libération” and “Folha de S. Paulo“.
You can also explore news stories, interviews and reviews published by the full spectrum of Italy’s national press. As for the local Bologna press, which follows the festival as a daily event throughout its run, we have selected only the most significant articles, those that best convey the importance of Il Cinema Ritrovato to the city.
To keep this selection clear and easy to navigate, we have omitted the specialist film publications, whose passion for cinema is at the very heart of our festival. Their coverage – including that of Coming Soon, Close-Up, Quinlan and Taxi Drivers, as well as many international film magazines and websites – can easily be found online.
As this press review continues to grow with further in-depth coverage published over the coming months, we would also like to remind you that all five episodes of “Hollywood Party”, the long-running Radio3 programme broadcast from the heart of Il Cinema Ritrovato between 22 and 27 June, are available to listen to on Rai Play Sound.
