For the international release of the film, after World War Two, Palladium prepared an English language version of the text of the Dies Irae hymn at the beginning and end of the film. The shadow of the cross with which the film ends was also reshot for this sequence. It would appear that prints of the film circulating in France and Italy lacked these texts altogether, but we have not been able to locate an example.
