Anouchka De Andrade Sarah Maldoror’s poignant adaptation of Aimé Césaire’s play Et les chiens se taisaient is set in the storerooms of the Musée de l’Homme in Paris. The statues become in turn the choir, the crowd or the slavers “with eyes as frightened as two rivets” facing the mother trying to save her rebellious son. This tragic play/ poem is performed by Gabriel Glissant and Sarah Maldoror.
