I made a tribute to the year 1965, «compressing», a bit like the sculptor César, a cult film from the same year: Alphaville by Jean-Luc Godard. Compression d’À bout de souffle was made using the same idea and forms part of the first episode of my Carnets filmés: Aurore collective (1976-1977). Compression de Niagara follows a trend in my work that began with my first film, Marilyn, Guy Lux et les nonnes (1976), and continued in other films, as my love for the Marilyn legend grew. (G.
