Anton Giulio Bragaglia, son of Francesco, who was general director of Cines since 1906, was a preminant representative of the italian futurism. He wrote and directed plays and did also some films (only one is still existing, “Thais”, 1916). Recently the Cineteca Nazionale preserved his only sound film, “Vele ammainate”, where Ferdinando Maria Poggioli is the assistant to Mr Bragaglia, that is presented for the very first time during this Festival.
