These two trailers are currently regarded as the only remaining film footage of this sequel to Francesco Pennino’s earlier film Senza mamma (1924). The sequel stars Rosina De Stefano, an opera singer with an extensive repertoire of Neapolitan songs, and features Catherine Campagnone, Miss Italy of 1932. Director Harold Godsoe was also the director for another Italian/American lm depicting the difficulties of cultural assimilation Santa Lucia Luntana (1931) also released under the titles Cuore d’emigrante and The Immigrant.
