The first French CinemaScope was a documentary that starts with an itinerary by car through Paris, and ends with a flight over the Alps. Presented in Paris theaters together with The Robe, the film won the approval of the Commision Supérieure Technique: “Mr. Ichac has successfully shown viewers a pseudo-3D effect through repetition of forward, backward, and sideways traveling shots; an impression which disappeared with screening of The Robe”.
