“We are speaking about an expedition which is set in a desert which is both sandy and icy at the same time: we are warned that the epic dimension of the trip is made up by the enormous open spaces and by the rarefaction of the concept of time; the failure of the film probably depended on the difficulty in putting together this specific adventure with the conventional rhythms which the public expected from a documentary on a trip. The cine-camera appears more than once in the scenes, but never seems to be able to interact with the running of the events (except for what concerns some close-up shots of some Mongols)” . ( Giacomo Manzoli)
