“My most difficult character role: Sacha Guitry at twenty. In this work, as you know, Monsieur, I play the role of my father, and I also play the episodic role of the author of Pasteur. Which means to say, that at the same time I play my own character and that of my father. Now when I saw myself on the screen, I recognized, without having premeditated it, that I had played one of these personages as a character role. But it is not the one that you might think. To be my father, in fact, I remained just as I am, since I represent him at precisely the age at which I now am, while to be myself, 30 years ago, imagine, Monsieur, imagine what an effort I had to make”.
