The restoration is based on the collection held at the Cinémathèque Française, mostly original camera negatives, or dupes from original camera negatives. The intertitles have been reconstructed following existing non-film sources: original Pathé lists and synopses, held at the Bibliothèque Nationale de France, and articles and synopses published on the Italian Rivista Pathé. The colours were reconstructed according to the Pathé codes for colouring.
