In this section self portrait films and amateur footage finally meet, as if to go back to the moment when super 8 was acknowledged by the international art scene as part of Documenta 8. There, twelve hours of home move material by florist Hans Riedel, filmed over a period of 27 years on normal 8 and super 8, were presented and commented upon by the filmmaker’s son, Markus Riedel. “The dilettante, as a person with forgotten qualities, re-appears on the scene.”
