A movie troupe arrives at the intended location for exteriors for the drama “The Child of the Morphine Addict”. Dandy, wearing the costume of a fireman, is mistaken by an official for the real thing. The reluctant fireman does not adapt well to dormitory life and the obligations of service. He is escaping over the wall of the barracks when he meets the troupe’s leady lady. Curious to know more about the life of the firemen, she persuades Dandy to take her into the barracks, where she dresses as a fireman. Misunderstandings follow, until a fire breaks out in an apart- ment. Dandy and his companion end up saving a woman, her baby, and her dog, and are hailed as heroes…
