An afternoon like any other, a traveling salesman wanders about the bustling city and goes into a cinema. The camera takes no interest in the film and spies on the various forms of humanity sitting in the rows of the audience: a latecomer makes others get up so he can reach an empty seat, a group of kids hurl paper wads with a peashooter, a gentleman snoozes, another kisses his love while a petty thief slips his pen out of his pocket. A stranger makes improper advances towards young Adriana Asti, who doesn’t appreciate it and changes seats.
