A Sioux tribe, led by their great chief, wreaks revenge on the palefaces by setting fire to a nearby village. But the cowboys fight back and mortally wound the great chief. “Humiliated, beaten and wounded, the great chief refuses to abandon the warpath and surrender to the palefaces. He wants to show how only a Sioux warrior can die. He covers his head with a black cloak and stretches out his arms like a huge nocturnal bird. ‘Warriors of my tribe, illustrious forefathers who wait for me in the heavenly lands of the brave, here I am!’ he shouts as he walks into the fire where eternal sleep awaits him”.
