Film Notes

After Eva helped Jura to escape from jail, he is betrayed by a woman and must flee in the country. In the meantime Eva is trying to unveil Jura’s true origins, sucpecting he is a noble. Rudolf, on the other hand, pays a meddler (of italian origins) in order to destroy any document concerning Jura’s origins. Fortunately the man offers the documents – for a higehr sum – to Robertson, who is investigating on Eva’s behalf. Finally Jura can live happily with Eva for the joy of his beloved and happy miners.

The second part of the plot follows the classical theme of the secret identity denied and recovered: a reason of interest is due to the clashing of the two parts. On one hand we have the syncupated rhythm of Jura’s escape, on the other, the slow pace and claustrophobic sets in which the diplomatic Eva intrigues.
