WORKSHOP: QUO VADIS? LAUNCH NEW WEBSITE OF MUSEUM OF DREAMWORLDS

Two workshops on two films set in classical antiquity and presented at Il Cinema Ritrovato 2026. Monday’s session focuses on Gli ultimi giorni di Pompei by Carmine Gallone and Amleto Palermi, with contributions from Valentina Rossetto on the footage shot in Pompeii by cinematographer Alfredo Donelli and from Aylin Atacan on the film’s architecture and locations. Wednesday’s session will instead concentrate on Quo vadis? by Enrico Guazzoni, with contributions from Giovanni Lasi about the Italian intertitles and from Maria Assunta Pimpinelli about the film’s silentscape.
Maria Wyke and Ivo Blom will discuss the Museum of Dreamworlds project exploring the silent films set in the Greco-Roman world from the BFI National Archive and present the project’s new website.

Workshop exploring how the film represents antiquity and launch of a website concerning all the silent antiquity films in the BFI National Archive.
