Biblioteca Salaborsa – Piazza del Nettuno 3 20 June – 19 December 2026 Monday, 2.30pm-8pm Tuesday-Friday, 10am-8pm Saturday, 10am-7pm Free admission
To mark the 40th anniversary of II Cinema Ritrovato, a new exhibition dedicated to the posters that have shaped cinema history and brought fame to several generations of great poster painters.
This selection features some of the must-see titles in the festival’s program and pays tribute to Barbara Stanwyck and Luchino Visconti, as well as to Martin Scorsese, Roger Corman, Mel Brooks, and Richard Brooks, whose works enrich the “Recovered and Restored” section. The posters on display, preserved by the Cineteca di Bologna, come for the most part from the Maurizio Baroni Collection-a passionate collector and scholar who deserves great credit for rediscovering and bringing back to light the history and careers of the great Italian cinema painters-but also from the pictorial movie poster archive Movie.it, with which the Cineteca has established a fruitful partnership over the past few years. These projects share a common goal: to recover, preserve, and promote the works of this Italian art form, which is appreciated around the world.
The exhibition is open to visitors in the Covered Square during Salaborsa Library‘s opening hours.
