Appointment description
In 1895 the Lumière brothers invented the cinematograph, a magical device capable of reproducing the world. Their cameramen, sent off to the furthest reaches of the world, gave birth to modernity’s greatest adventure: to capture, interpret, and narrate life itself. Cities, landscapes, men, women, children, animals, work, play, the sea, the crowd, solitude: the luminous and powerful beauty of these views still leaves us breathless. Mise-en-scène, tracking shots, trick shots, remakes: the brothers from Lyon invented both the cinematograph and the cinema.
