The Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival is the most important short film fair in the world. Every year, 170,000 spectators attend international competitions, retrospectives, and themed programmes. Amongst these, nearly one quarter are students, evidence of a deep and ongoing engagement with younger generations throughout the year in close collaboration with schools, in the form of screenings, workshops, and programmes suitable for all ages. We firmly believe that introducing children to cinema as early as possible helps nurture the filmmakers, audiences and imaginaries of the future. This same conviction leads us to bring a selection of animated films to Bologna this year: four separate stories and four separate universes in a single invitation to imagine, wonder, and feel emotion.
