{"id":64640,"date":"2021-07-15T18:17:36","date_gmt":"2021-07-15T16:17:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ilcinemaritrovato.it\/?p=64640"},"modified":"2021-07-15T20:10:22","modified_gmt":"2021-07-15T18:10:22","slug":"cinema-arte-di-tutt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ilcinemaritrovato.it\/en\/cinema-arte-di-tutt\/","title":{"rendered":"Cinema, Everybody&#8217;s Art"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ilcinemaritrovato.it\/en\/sezione\/contro-ogni-bandiera-wolfgang-staudte\/\"><em>Against All Flags<\/em><\/a>, the retrospective dedicated to <strong>Wolfgang Staudte<\/strong>, allows us to get to know the unique journey of a director whose formative years were during the Nazi period, who chose to work in East Germany, and who later moved to West Germany \u2013 all the while directing challenging and personal films. Staudte is a clear representative of the anti-nationalist side of the cinema, which, from its very beginnings \u2013 thanks to its immediate global distribution and the images shot in various continents by the Lumi\u00e8re cameramen \u2013 has always been a collective art that transcends borders.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>As we have always maintained, ours is the festival of archives. We can spur archives to restore films through our work, but the programme is also a mirror of the choices of individual archives. The good news is that the long-forgotten history of African-American cinema is beginning to re-emerge.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ilcinemaritrovato.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/07\/mica\u00echaue.png\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-4\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-64652 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/ilcinemaritrovato.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/07\/mica\u00echaue-300x173.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"295\" height=\"170\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ilcinemaritrovato.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/mica\u00echaue-300x173.png 300w, https:\/\/ilcinemaritrovato.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/mica\u00echaue-768x443.png 768w, https:\/\/ilcinemaritrovato.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/mica\u00echaue-600x346.png 600w, https:\/\/ilcinemaritrovato.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/mica\u00echaue-800x461.png 800w, https:\/\/ilcinemaritrovato.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/mica\u00echaue.png 973w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 295px) 100vw, 295px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">This year we can pay homage to two legends of black cinema:<strong> Oscar Micheaux<\/strong> and <strong>Melvin Van Peebles<\/strong>. The former is paid homage in Francesco Zippel\u2019s documentary<a href=\"https:\/\/ilcinemaritrovato.it\/en\/film\/oscar-micheaux-the-superhero-of-black-filmmaking\/\"> <em>The Superhero of Black Filmmaking<\/em> <\/a>and in the restoration of <a href=\"https:\/\/ilcinemaritrovato.it\/en\/proiezione\/murder-in-harlem\/\"><em>Murder in Harlem<\/em><\/a>, a socially committed film about the trial of a young Black man unjustly accused of the murder of a young white woman with whom he worked, which incensed American public opinion in the 1910s. In just 69 minutes, <strong>Raoul Peck<\/strong>, who spent his youth in Congo, follows in the footsteps of Chris Marker to successfully narrate the epic and tragic story of Patrice Lumumba, denounce white colonial policy, and reflect on big ethical questions concerning images, journalism, political commitment and responsibility. In the retrospective A Hundred Years Ago, we will screen the only known copy of <a href=\"https:\/\/ilcinemaritrovato.it\/en\/film\/the-swamp\/\"><em>The Swamp<\/em><\/a>, conserved by the Russian film archive\u00a0Gosfil\u2019mofond.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffffff\">p<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffffff\">p<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sorry, this entry is only available in Italiano.
