Film Notes
“Moore was a lively and easy-going actress, one of the most sought after and well paid actresses of Hollywood until the onset of the sound era. Her way of dressing, her style, her hairdo with bangs was imitated by many of her colleagues on both sides of the Ocean. She acted in about fifty films, almost all silent, including many box-office hits, always dominating the scene for her beauty and charm. Let us recall here Ella Cinders (in Italy Cinema Star), this one as well drawn from a famous comic strip of the time, Cinderella at the Movies, by Charles Plumb. Moore shows here great acting skills and flexibility as she depicts here naive candour and there surprising open-mindedness with great self-irony. All the features we find again and fully in Orchids and Ermine”.
