Works can be kept under control by capitalism, by the system of lies used to govern the people. The aspiration to live a full and meaningful life rather than a life of passivity – which is what those who are forced to work for a salary live – is comparable to a body that desires, that wants to live. It is not comparable to a body reduced to forced labor. That’s the discriminating factor. So while the works can be kept under control in museums, valued for money and considered to be all that they are not, it’s possible to start thinking about your own works as an experience, a chance to communicate and to build the ability to destroy what makes you live passively. That is how what you do takes on meaning and how livable horizons open up”.
