A documentary on the production of the most common tricks and special effects of the classic cinema. The film provides a survey, from the point of view of the craft, of the whole dream factory of the 1950s, from the trompe-l’œil of transparences to jewels made from plastic and miniatures, from ampoules of fake blood to rudimentary split-screen effects.
