An actress takes a holiday in the Camargue, dresses as an arlésienne, dallies with one of the locals and then goes home. The lovesick cowboy chooses death, riding in three long takes into the vastness of the sea. Perret would not remain the only Gaumont director shooting in the Camargue. In November 1911 Jean Durand and Joe Hamman shot their first westerns à la française there.
