Film Notes

“Doretta, the daughter of a road-mender, falls in love with an engineer who is carrying out railroad works. However, when the work is finished, he leaves, forgetting the brief love affair, and he becomes engaged to another woman. When she hears of the impending wedding, Doretta waits for the train with the newly weds to pass and she throws herself under its wheels.

A love tragedy, one of the many films which the production company Savoia in Torino produced in 1912. The identities of the director and the actors remain unknown; not so the work however, which is surprisingly realistic in the brevity of its development”. (Vittorio Martinelli)
