Documentary about the “liberation soldiers at the forefront”: ten thousand men participating in the creation of “freedom camps” in the midst of the “Gestapo kingdom”. We see them train, the distribution of materials (one weapon for five men!) and the counting of the different F.F.L. units, which the documentary describes as united and effective. These units are composed of individuals from all walks of life: students, workers, prisoners… Winter is the most dangerous period for them: “the Cross of Lorraine on their chest is their only source of heat. Win or die!”
The film ends with the raising of the flag, which is reminiscent of the opening shot.
