Periodicals from the time say that Rodolfi was in a hurry and cuts his cheek while shaving. He uses a stamp as band-aid, a stamp that Gigetta’s father has to have no matter the price… And he gets it, and Rodolfi gets Gigetta in exchange… A brilliant surreal comedy.
