Duce sportivo is a sound documentary montage produced by the Istituto Nazionale LUCE. in November 1934, considered lost until today. The genesis of the film is suggested in a letter of 2 November 1934 from Luigi Freddi, General Director of Cinematography, to the President of the Istituto LUCE: “His Excellency, the Head of State, has expressed the desire for a documentary in which he appears on the sea, in the sky, and on earth […]. I would very much appreciate it if you would immediately take care of making this documentary, keeping me informed as to the status of the work in progress”.
